Our History
Who we are

Rahman Rahman Huq (RRH) is a firm of chartered accountants in Dhaka. We were founded in 1962, and for many years we practised as KPMG in Bangladesh. Today we practise independently under our own name.
If you are looking for the firm you knew as KPMG in Bangladesh, you have found us. This page tells our story from 1962 to today and sets out the audit, tax and advisory work we do now.
KPMG is a trademark of KPMG International. We are no longer a member of the KPMG network, and we use the name here only to describe our past.
Our History
Founded in 1962

Our firm was founded in 1962 by Rezaur Rahman, Saifur Rahman and Tashfin I Huq. For more than six decades we have helped shape the accounting profession in Bangladesh.
We have developed more Chartered Accountants than any other firm in Bangladesh.
Our History
Joining the KPMG network in 2006

In January 2006 we became a member firm of KPMG International, the first firm in Bangladesh to join a Big Four network.
In the years that followed we practised as KPMG in Bangladesh and earned the highest KPMG Audit rating for five consecutive years.
Our membership of the KPMG network ended on 30 September 2026. We now practise independently as Rahman Rahman Huq.
Our History
Our years as KPMG in Bangladesh

Much of what we did in those years is recorded in our gallery. A few examples follow.
Every year we run an Audit Foundation training programme for newly joined trainees and articled students. The 2023 programme was held at Brac Center Inn on 3 October 2023 and led by our senior people.
We held a practical session on the Income Tax Act 2023 at our Chattogram office on 29 February 2024, and our 13th Tax Team Meeting at our Dhaka office on 3 March 2024.
We ran a technical session on IFRS 9 for a client bank. It covered expected credit loss (ECL) based loan classification and provisioning, the IFRS 9 framework, ECL methodology and system readiness.
Our partners attended the KPMG Middle East, South Asia and Caspian (MESAC) Partners' Conference in Riyadh on 20 and 21 November 2023. We also took part in a MESAC Heads of Audit meeting in Dubai and, in 2024, a MESAC workshop on the system of quality management (SoQM) under ISQM.
On 17 and 18 April 2024 we took part in a two-day workshop on public-private partnership (PPP) capacity building at the InterContinental Dhaka, with the PPP Authority, the World Bank and KPMG Singapore. The PPPA Handbook was unveiled there.
On 11 March 2026 one of our trainers took part in a Cash Incentive Audit training programme on exports, hosted by the Civil Audit Directorate of Bangladesh.
We launched a Women's Forum and its first "SHE" programme. Our people also represented the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh at the 2023 SAFA quiz and elocution contest in Nepal, where the Bangladesh teams were elocution champions and quiz runners-up.
Our History
Rahman Rahman Huq today

We are an independent firm led by five partners: Adeeb H. Khan (Senior Partner), M. Mehedi Hasan, Ashraf Zaman Ali, Md. Tazul Islam and Sarker Nahidul Islam. From Dhaka and Chattogram we provide audit, tax and advisory services across a range of sectors.
Since 1962 we have supported domestic conglomerates and multinational corporations on direct and indirect tax.
Three of our services show the range. In financial statement audits, we carry out independent audits under ISA and BSA and assess compliance with IFRS and BFRS. Our corporate tax services cover return filing, withholding tax, tax payments and appeals for domestic companies and multinationals under NBR rules. Business Services and Outsourcing (BSO) brings together business set-up, accounting, payroll, compliance, secretarial, expatriate and exit support for companies operating in Bangladesh.
We also advise on transfer pricing, VAT and customs, risk consulting, IT advisory, forensic services and corporate finance.
